Ask any contractor quoting your job for the NFRC label numbers on the specific window they’re proposing, not just a brand brochure. The label will show U-factor, SHGC, and air leakage for that exact product line. If a salesperson can’t produce it, that’s a signal to get a second quote. Also confirm in writing whether the quoted price includes full frame replacement or an insert (pocket) installation, since those are priced and performed very differently, and insert installs won’t address a rotted or out of square original frame.
